Ideas we welcome

Strong proposals take one clear question and answer it for a general reader. We are interested in explanations of product formats, careful comparisons, histories of beauty practices, ingredient terminology and thoughtful readings of style. A useful pitch shows what the reader will understand by the end and why the subject will remain relevant.

A focused pitch

Include a working title, a short summary, the main points you would cover and any sources or expertise relevant to the proposal. Keep the scope manageable and explain unfamiliar terms. Avoid unsupported claims, product-led copy, personal treatment advice and pitches whose central value depends on first-hand testing that has not taken place.

Before sending

Submissions should be original and written in clear English. Please disclose relevant commercial interests and identify any proposed use of images. A proposal is not a guarantee of publication; we may ask questions or suggest a narrower focus. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than treating a submitted pitch as already accepted.
